Access to quality healthcare services is essential for human well-being and development. Many communities in our operational areas face significant barriers to healthcare, including
distance to facilities, cost of services, shortage of health workers, and limited health infrastructure. ResiliencePlus Africa works to improve healthcare access and outcomes through various
interventions. We support healthcare facilities with essential medical supplies and equipment, facilitate health outreach programs to remote communities, and promote
preventive healthcare through health education and awareness campaigns.
Our healthcare programs address maternal and child health, nutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases, mental health, and health emergencies. We collaborate withgovernment health departments, health facilities, and community health workers to strengthen healthcare systems and ensure that vulnerable populations receive the care they need.
We place a broader focus not just on provision of essential healthcare service but on strengthening Healthcare systems as well reflecting the organization’s commitment to ensuring that all community members have access to quality, affordable, and dignified healthcare services. This encompasses both direct service delivery through medical camps and other outreach programs, and systemic interventions that strengthen the capacity and responsiveness of formal health systems.
Programming in this area includes regular community medical camps providing screening and treatment for conditions including cancer, eye diseases, and general health issues; blood donation drives that strengthen emergency preparedness and maternal health capacity; health education and awareness campaigns addressing prevention and early detection; support for health facility capacity through equipment, supplies, and training; and advocacy for health system reforms that improve equity and quality of care. A particular emphasis is placed on reaching populations often excluded from healthcare services including prisoners, elderly populations, persons with disabilities, and those in remote or underserved areas.
